It’s All About Bee-ing Happy!

It’s all About Bee-ing happy and Bugaboo is excited to bring joy to parents everywhere with it’s launch of the Bugaboo Bee +, the Bugaboo stroller for life on the fly, coming this April!

The Bugaboo Bee stroller which made it’s debut in late 2007 is about to see major improvements! The Bee +, or the second generation Bee stroller, maintains the same sleek and nimble frame, one piece fold design and compact, lightweight versatility, yet Bugaboo has found many ways to improve this ‘compact yet complete’ stroller.

Let’s get started! The Bee + is suitable from newborn to toddler, with three recline positions including a lie flat position. The Bee + has a reversible seat which will feature a new and improved seat reversal system, making it much easier for parents. If you have used a Bugaboo Bee in the past you know that, although the seat can reverse, it’s not the easiest procedure. The Bee + will enable a parent to reverse the seat with ease!

One of the parent criticisms of the old Bee model was the low canopy height and seat back height. Bugaboo has listened! The new Bee + will have a height adjustable backrest, sun canopy and five point harness, along with a slightly wider wheel base and seat to accommodate these changes. The capability to adjust the height of the backrest from 20 inches to 23.2 inches will make the Bee + great for your toddler.

Now onto the canopy! Although lacking the neat walled-in appearance that was so loved on the former Bee model, the Bee + canopy has a new shape and provides more space for growing toddlers. Also, Bugaboo has made it easier to change the canopy which can be purchased separately for a mix and match option ($49.) Canopies will be available in the same range of colors as the former Bee. The Bee + base will remain black.

New accessories for the Bee + will launch sometime this year. They will include a maxi cosi car seat adapter (compared to the former, Graco only model), an all new breezy sun canopy (May 2010), and seat liners in colors to match the canopy. The Bee + will also remain compatible to the Graco Snugride car seat with a separately sold adapter ($44.95).

If you are purchasing your first stroller this is why you would consider the Bee +. Are you always on the go by car or public transit, or do you travel a lot by air? The Bee + will be suitable for mothers on the go because it is relatively lightweight (18.5 lbs) and folds in one piece, regardless of the direction the seat is facing. Yet, the Bee + feels more like a system stroller as it offers car seat compatibility and a reversible seat. The Bee + does lack a bassinet feature; however, you can substitute a bassinet for the Bee Cocoon ($99.95), still available as an option for newborns.. Also, check out the Bee + as a second stroller if you are a seasoned parents looking for a lightweight option. Compared to other lightweight strollers, the Bee + is sleek, nimble and hot on the street.

Of course, all of the new innovation comes with a new price tag. The Bee + will retail for $649, compared to the former Bee model which was priced at $529. Love the original Bee and want to get one at $529? Check them out while they last. Bugaboo has stopped production and they will no longer be available once they sell out.
