Free with purchase of G2 infant travel system now through 8/31!
Orbit Baby is offering a promotion for August and there are only a few short days left to be a part of it. Now through the end of the month, Orbit Baby is offering a free bassinet cradle with every infant travel system purchased! That is a savings of $280!
Why such a great deal you ask? Orbit wants to get the word out that their bassinet cradle system is worth it, and hopes that putting one in the hands of many will spread the word about their product. The cradle works with all three pieces of the system including the infant car seat and stroller seat G2. Mama’s and Papa’s Urbo and Sola
 Urbo stroller
The Mama’s and Papa’s brand is known world wide for “inspiring parents to create a world of quality style and creativity for babies.” Indeed the brand is one of the most innovative brands in the industry and we’re happy to have them here in the U.S and in our showroom!
The trend for lighter weight, reversible seat strollers that are functionally similar to the larger and more comfortable systems available is growing. With the pending release of the UPPAbaby Cruz and others companies soon to be following the same trend, Mama’s and Papas is truly a forerunner in considering this type of product. The two strollers available in the Mama’s and Papa’s line in the lighter weight reversible seat category are the Urbo and Sola.
Urbo, with it’s light and sleek aluminum chassis and luxurious fabric is as functional as any of the more fully featured strollers on the market. At only twenty pounds, it has an easy to reverse seat, baby can sit facing parent or facing the world. Urbo features an adjustable height handle, and a comfortable stitched leatherette handle, that looks and feels high-end. Your baby also has a stitched leatherette front carry bar that can be both removed and will swing open. The Urbo canopy is huge, offering ample sun protection, and the seat reclines at a full 180 degrees. The seat on the Urbo will fold in the forward facing position. There is also a bassinet option for newborns as well as both Graco and Maxi Cosi car seat adapters for those who like to use their stroller as a travel system.
The Mama’s and Papa’s Sola stroller takes a step down in price but does not lack any of the features of the Urbo. Sola is both bassinet and car seat compatible (both as options sold separately) and also features an easy to use reversible seat option. The main differences between the two strollers are as follows.
- Weight (Sola is about two pounds heavier)
- Fabrics (canvas on the Sola versus a softer more luxurious fabric on the Urbo)
- Adjustable handle versus telescopic.
- Larger basket and larger wheels in the back.
 Sola stroller
Also, with the use of funky designer fabrics, Sola takes pattern to the high end market with some serious attitude.
Both Urbo and Sola are available to view in our showroom and on www.strollinginstyle.com

Ask any experienced parent if they have more than one stroller, and they will say yes. Why have more than one, you ask? Most parents learn that, with a growing child your stroller needs will change throughout the years. Once you are out and about with a growing baby or toddler, your stroller needs may change throughout the day! The most important piece of advice that an expecting family must know about their initial stroller purchase is that there is no perfect stroller that can do it all. Here are the three strollers that make up the perfect stroller collection.
1) Your System stroller. This is your first stroller. This is the primary product and the one that you use A LOT in the first year of your child’s life. Your system stroller may come with a bassinet or lie-flat surface for your newborn. This stroller is infant car seat COMPATIBLE, meaning you will be able to attach a Graco, Peg Perego, or other industry brand car seat safely on the stroller for those times when it is convenient to do so. Your system stroller also has a toddler seat for children and will fit a child up through anywhere from thirty seven to fifty pounds. The most popular and high quality system strollers in the industry are parent facing and can also be turned away facing for when baby wants to see the world. Some suggestions are the UPPAbaby Vista, or the Bugaboo Cameleon.
2) Your Jogging stroller. Once your baby is sitting upright on his own, many families opt to add a jogging stroller to their “stroller collection.” Usually, this purchase is made when mom or dad decide that it is time to get in shape and baby is ready to be outside more. Why do I need a jogger when I own a system stroller like a Bugaboo? Your system stroller is great for walking, but the manufactures recommend that it not be used for jogging. A true jogging stroller, one that is built to handle the shock of the speed and road, will allow you to fit your active lifestyle into your parenting. The BOB Revolution SE is the highest quality jogging stroller in the industry.
3) Your Lightweight stroller. After the first year, you and your child may be ready for a lightweight stroller. A lightweight stroller, sometimes referred to as an umbrella stroller is usually under 12 pounds and is quick and easy to fold and unfold, get in and out of the car, and even keep in the car for quick errands. Do you travel a lot? Depending on your answer you may add a lightweight stroller to your collection earlier than a year although most parents are comfortable with using their system stroller on a daily basis through the first year. We recommend the Maclaren Quest, or Uppababy G-luxe.
Remember, this advice will change depending on your needs and lifestyle If you do not jog, you may not need a jogging stroller. If you are comfortable using your system stroller on a day to day basis and you do not travel, you may not need a lightweight! Or, you might prefer a hybrid system stroller. A hybrid system is a stroller that has all the features of a full system but offers other features that may fit with your lifestyle. For instance some lightweight strollers, like the Baby Jogger City mini or the Cybex Callisto, have car seat and bassinet seating options. Or, all terrain strollers like the Bumbleride Indie, can also be car seat and bassinet compatible, and have the added feature of an all terrain wheel which can be used for light jogging. Want to avoid a garage full of strollers? Invest in good, high quality durable products and you will always have a stroller to fit your needs.

City Mini Compact Pram
We have been waiting for seven long months for the release of the Baby Jogger Compact Pram, which finally arrived at Strolling in Style this week! Th e compact pram allows you to turn any city mini single stroller, or any 2011 and up City Mini double stroller into a newborn friendly ride.
The Compact Pram is a flat lying carrycot with a mattress, and removable apron. The pram also features it’s own sunshade. Four connecters are included with the pram, two for the single and two for the double. To place the compact pram on the stroller, simply clip the connectors into the mounting brackets, and then slide the pram onto the connector. To remove the Compact Pram, there are two handles that you squeeze and the pram slides off.
The Compact Pram is a great addition to the City Mini or City Mini double because it makes the City Mini strollers more newborn friendly. Also, the Compact Pram will face the parent, allowing mom or dad to have full visibility of your newborn. For newborn twins, you can put two compact prams on the City Mini double, making it the lightest newborn friendly stroller on the market.
The Compact Pram is $159.95 and comes in Grey and Black.

BOB Revolution SE!
The BOB Revolution SE has just launched nationwide today, February 1st, 2011! Strolling in Style has the new model Revolution single and double stroller available for purchase. This is an exciting time as the BOB Revolution model has not changed very much since 2007. As of now, the BOB Revolution now has an all new look.
The SE stands for Sport Experience. BOB has kept the basic frame the same on the Duallie, although on the Single, the wheel base is slighty wider. The strollers still have the great push and suspension as always. BOB has changed the style by adding smart features, to improve upon an already great stroller! A different more tailored fabric graces the new model, as well as a wider and more supportive seat. The seat is also increasingly padded, making it comfortable for even our smallest consumers. For parents, the under basket is wider and more accessable than it’s predecessor. Improvements have been made to the features of the sunshade as well. Now, the sunshade is ratcheted so that it holds itself open to create a tighter more tailored look.
As far as major improvements go, the car seat and snack tray not have a universal accessory mount which can easily be taken on and off the stroller. This is in sharp contrast to the hardware mounted car seat adapter and snack tray on the earlier model. We love the way the car seats fit on the new model Revolution!
As far as colors, a new color will be launching for the single as well! Plum will be a new single color for the BOB Revolution SE. It will have eggplant purple accents with the same grey accents. Also, an all black Duallie SE (with the sixteen each poly back wheel) will be available beginning in Spring. Also launching in Spring will be the snack trays and Duallie car seat adapters.
Please see below for a detailed list of changes to the SE from the late Model BOB Revolution.
Single Revolution SE
- Updated water resistant spf fabric
- Ratcheted canopies
- Wider/more supportive padded seat
- Wider wheel base
- Mounting brackets for car seat adapter and snack tray

See the new padded seat and notice the right and left accessory mounts!
Duallie Revolution SE
Updated water resistant Spf Fabric

Smashing in All Black!
The All Black special edition Bugaboo Cameleon is making a comeback in 2011! Beginning in February, Strolling in Style will have the all-black Bugaboo Cameleon available in store.
The all black Cameleon consists of the following. Instead of the aluminum frame, this Cameleon has a sleek black frame. Unlike the usual dark grey, sand or brown base, the special edition features a deep black base fabric. Included with the stroller is the black bassinet apron and canopy and of course all the usual accessories such as rain cover, and mosquito net. The all black Cameleon was released via limited release in 2010 but has not been available in specialty stores until now! We are excited to finally be receiving this edition at Strolling in Style.
In more special edition Bugaboo Cameleon news, Bugaboo is releasing their third edition Denim Cameleon in Spring 2011, the Bugaboo Cameleon Demin 107 edition! The denim 107 edition features an aluminum frame with a dark denim base and dark denim canopy set. The wildly successful predecessor of the Denim 107, the 007 edition ran an impressive run in stores from 2008-2010 so it is likely that the Denim 107 will be just as successful. First (of hopefully many) News Feature of the Year!
On January 7th, 2011 Strolling in Style was featured in an article regarding new child product safety regulations. The article was featured on the front page the Sun Sentinel, South Florida’s local newspaper! Our Baby Jogger display is seen on the front page, along with one of our lovely customers Corrine Brown who was quoted in the article. The article discusses new regulations which adhere to all durable juvenile products- products designed to be used until a child outgrows and that are often passed down from person to person.
Joseph Sabag, owner of Strolling in Style (and dear husband of Rebecca who writes this blog and also owns our incredibly wonderful store) is quoted in the article. He discusses how the new regulations are good for people who do business with big box dealers. This way, even if the product was purchased from larger store with a lower level of customer service, if the product is registered the consumer will be notified of recalls on their products through mail and email alerts. Also, Joe mentions that even consumers shopping for second hand items are able to register their products through the new system which is important for people who shop at thrift or consignment stores. Joe is always glad to be a juvenile product expert and consultant for the Sun Sentinel!
As the article states, here at Strolling in Style we keep detailed records of who buys our strollers and car seats and we will always notify you of recalls when and if they occur.
